Google Home can now stream tracks from your personal Play Music library

Google Home owners can now listen to music they’ve uploaded to or purchased from Play Music. Previously, free users could only listen to radio stations, while All Access customers also had the facility to access on-demand content.

You’re probably asking yourself, “Why would All access users want to listen to music they’ve uploaded when they have millions of tracks at their fingertips?” The answer’s simple: there are plenty of songs that aren’t listed in Google’s library.

There’s an extra step for All Access subscribers

If a user is subscribed to the free Play Music tier, Home will automatically play music from their personal library, but All Access customers will need to specifically ask Google Assistant to stream an album or song from their collection.

That’s not such a big deal, though. Is it?
