You can now purchase content from iTunes using your PayPal balance

Apple is finally letting you purchase content from the App Store and iTunes using your PayPal balance, but there’s a caveat: you’ll need to reside in either Canada or Mexico to take advantage of the feature.

Adding a new payment method couldn’t be easier. All you need to do is open up Settings on your iPhone, tap Apple ID, select View Apple ID, choose PayPal, then follow the steps to link your account.

PayPal confirmed that the feature will make its way to other locations, including the United States, in the not-too-distant future, though it did not provide a specific timeframe.

It’s a little strange that Apple’s decided to add support for PayPal now, when it’s working on its own digital peer-to-peer payment platform that’ll be housed in the Wallet application.

Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer. Right, Apple?
