Square Enix is finally publishing the last game in the series that does not have a digital option. Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age brings the black-sheep entry in the series to modern consoles today, and a generation of gamers will finally get the chance to be baffled and confused by its mechanics, story, and complicated world.
Seriously, this game is bonkers… but not as bonkers as Final Fantasy XV.
It’s also somewhat genius under all the chaos, and the story is no different. Square Enix’s launch trailer will welcome you back into the world of Ivalice with open arms, and that stunning new screen resolution will make you feel like you’ve never left.
It’s also a total Star Wars rip-off. Don’t forget that either.
Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age launches today for the PlayStation 4. Man, What I wouldn’t do to play this game on the Vita. It’s a little too perfect for handheld consumption.
