Galaxy S8’s Bixby button remap gets blocked (again)

If you own a Galaxy S8 locked to T-Mobile, we have some bad news: Samsung has started rolling out an update that prevents third-party applications from remapping the handset’s physical Bixby button.

You may recall that the firm released a similar upgrade a couple of months ago, but developers were quick to find a workaround — and they’re reportedly already looking for another one.

Bixby is, ermmm, useless

It’s unclear why Samsung’s going to such great lengths to stop customers remapping the key, because, let’s face it, Bixby is currently useless. We can only assume that it’s using the millions of accidental clicks to convince investors that people are actually using the service.

News flash: they aren’t.
