Galaxy Note FE to launch globally very soon

Following last year’s unfortunate Note 7 recall, Samsung re-launched the device as a limited run “Fan Edition.” Unfortunately, it only launched in South Korea—and in very limited numbers. A new report, however, reveals the device could arrive in more countries very soon.

According to The Investor, an insider revealed the global launch of the Note FE could come by the end of this month. It is not clear just how many markets that will include, but it will likely be a small number. Samsung has never made any promises to release the Galaxy FE to a wider audience, so it’s probably a safe bet to say it won’t launch in your country.

It is probably fool’s gold to expect the Galaxy FE to arrive in the U.S. so close to the Note 8’s release, which is expected some time in August or September.

Be that as it may, sales of the Note FE have been surprisingly strong, so you never know. Samsung reportedly manufactured 400,000 units to be sold in South Korea, with no plans to produce more units after the initial number is sold out. To stir up interest in the device, Samsung is marketing it as a special edition version. This move appears to be working quite well.

The Note FE is a great phone, but it may not be the best investment even if it does come to a country near you. It isn’t cheap, selling for $620. You can pick up a Galaxy S8 for much cheaper thanks to a ton of deals or just wait a month or two for the Note 8, which is expected to be Samsung’s most powerful device yet.
