Snapchat has updated its application for Android and iOS with a couple of new features: Backdrops and Paperclip. The former allows you to add effects to the background of your images, while the latter lets you add a URL.
The upgrade also bundles a tool called Voice Filters, which, as its name suggests, gives you the facility to distort, disguise or enhance your voice in videos using a filter. I briefly toyed around with the feature earlier today, and it’s actually pretty entertaining.
Instagram vs. Snapchat
It certainly looks like the tables have turned in the Instagram vs. Snapchat battle, as Snap essentially ripped the URL sharing feature from Instagram and installed it in its own application.
Things are really starting to get heated.
