HTC is reportedly working on a mid-range variant of the U11, which has been internally codenamed Ocean Life.
According to tipster LlabTooFeR, the handset will ship with a 5.2-inch FHD display, a Snapdragon 660 CPU, a 16MP front- and rear-facing camera, and a 2,600mAh battery.
For comparison, the U11 features a 5.5-inch QHD screen, a Snapdragon 835 processor, a 16MP front- and a 12MP rear-facing shooter, and a 3,000mAh cell.
Chances are, you’re not going to be picking up an Ocean Life for its internals — so it doesn’t really matter that they’re a downgrade from the regular U11.
The main selling point of the handset will be its pressure-sensitive frame, which allows users to launch an application or place a call by simply squeezing the unit.
Expect an announcement soon
We don’t have any information with regards to pricing and availability, though we expect HTC to take the wraps off the Ocean Life by the end of the third quarter.
