Ubisoft will make more Splinter Cell, but we’re a ways off

Ubisoft pulled the wraps off of a few key games that we were hoping to see at E3 2017. One of them was Beyond Good & Evil 2, a title I’ve personally been waiting to see again for years and years now.

What about Ubisoft’s other marquee and now missing franchise? What about Splinter Cell.

The official company-run blog, if you can believe it, asked CEO Yves Guillemot about the absence of Splinter Cell lately.

“What we can say is we’re receiving a lot of sketches and proposals around the brand and we’re going to pick one up,” Guillemot explained. “I think you will be able to see something, but you will have to wait for that.”

They’re only in the midst of receiving pitches and proposals for a new Splinter Cell? From greenlight to release could take anywhere from three to five years, so expect Sam Fisher to sneak up on us in, oh, roughly half a decade.
