Galaxy Note 8 design confirmed in newly leaked image

The Galaxy Note 8 is getting closer and closer to release, and with that comes that many more leaks. The latest comes courtesy of BGR, which has obtained a CAD rendering based off of schematics directly from the factory via one of that site’s trusted sources.

The new rendering show off a fairly plain back panel, but it does offer one big piece of information we’ve been wanting to know for some time: Where the fingerprint scanner is going to be placed.

There have been conflicting rumors about whether the fingerprint scanner would be on the back of the device similar to the S8 and S8+, or under the screen as many rumors assume will happen with the iPhone 8. Unfortunately, it appears Samsung was unable to crack the puzzle that is getting it under the screen and has had to stick with the rear placement.

The worst part of this news, however, is that it appears Samsung is also sticking with the fingerprint sensor being directly next to the camera module. This has been an issue for S8 and S8+ users as it is leading to them placing their finger on the camera and smudging the lens. With the size of the Galaxy Note 8, this placement is potentially going to be even more awkward than it has been on its smaller cousin phones.

What about the specs?

Still firmly in the world of rumors, evidence has bene pointing to a powerful device once the Note 8 is released. Information has been pointing to the Galaxy Note 8 featuring a Snapdragon 835 or Exynos 8895 processor depending on your region, a 3300mAh battery, 6GB of RAM, dual 12MP rear cameras and a 6.3-inch Super AMOLED display. Reports have also pointed to the possibility of a $1,000 price tag when the Note 8 hits the market later this year.

The date of when the Galaxy Note 8 will make its debut has been somewhat of a moving target, but currently, it seems as though mid-September is when we can expect Samsung to show off the Galaxy Note 8 to the general public.
