Galaxy Note 7 FE launch date has leaked

Have you forgotten about last year’s Note 7 recall? Samsung is hoping you have, because the company is planning to release a refurbished version of the device early next month.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the “fandom edition” device will reportedly feature new batteries and updated software, which means it may feature Bixby.

The device’s resurrection comes several months after the device was recalled due to battery fires. Since then, Samsung has released the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, both of which have yet to encounter any serious issues.

Were it not for the recall, the Note 7 would have been our favorite device of 2016. Instead, that honor went to the Google Pixel.

It’s a little bittersweet to see the device come back after enduring such a disastrous event. On the one hand, the Note 7 still has plenty to offer. But, when rumors started circulating about the device’s resurrection, we wondered why it was even necessary to bring it back.

The device will reportedly be about 700,000 won ($616) when it launches in South Korea on July 7. It’s unclear if the Note 7 will go on sale in any other countries.

Once Samsung makes an official announcement, we’ll be sure to bring you all the details. Of course, the device’s arrival may not even matter considering the Note 8 is rumored to be right around the corner.
