Square Enix had a relatively meager showing at E3 2017, but the company promises that its presence at Gamescom 2017 in Cologne, Germany will be very different. It’s bringing its headlining title Final Fantasy XV to the show and will be making a huge announcement regarding the game.
Marketing Manager Akio Ofuji claimed that the company was not ready to show off its plans at E3 2017 in a recent episode of Square Enix’s Active Time Report podcast. Director Hajime Tabata backed him up, claiming that there will be plenty of timed events that take place before the end of the summer.
“That’s right. We’ve been very busy. We must make it so that we can announce some proper good announcements for the summer. We want to share some good information at Gamescom.”
Apart from timed summer events, we’re wondering what huge plans Square Enix will reveal. Prompto’s action-packed DLC will be released by then, meaning we might get a first glimpse at what Ignis’ chapter looks.
And who knows? PC port? Never know…
Final Fantasy XV is available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Gamescom 2017 will be held from Aug. 22 to Aug 26.
