Super Mario Bros. World 1-1 is intense in augmented reality

It’s the fact of life. Whenever a new method of game creation comes out, be it LittleBigPlanet or augmented reality, Super Mario Bros. World 1-1 will be remade.

The iconic gaming level has found itself recreated countless times by ambitious gamers, the latest being a fan who used Microsoft’s Hololens to recreate its pipes and obstacles in a first-person viewpoint.

No doubt, the idea sounds like it would not work. The results aren’t perfect, but Abhishek Singh‘s recreation is interesting enough for a fun gander. Also, he doesn’t stand out too much in the wilds of Central Park. I’ve seen people doing stranger things.

The fireballs are the best.

And, if I’m being honest, it’s actually kind of scary. I wouldn’t want the Goombas to be dropping on me from the sky like that. I’ll never question Mario’s bravery again!
