Evernote finally brings its Android client in line with iOS

The beta build of Evernote for Android has received a much-requested feature by way of an update on the Play Store. The upgrade, which arrived on Thursday, brings users the ability to unlock the application using their fingerprint, instead of an antiquated four-digit PIN.

To take advantage of the new functionality, you’ll need to enable Passcode Lock by heading into Settings, followed by Account Info, then Set Up Passcode Lock. Once you’ve done that, navigate into the Manage Passcode Lock menu and slide the toggle next to Unlock with Fingerprint from Off to On.

There’s no telling how long it’ll take to reach the stable version

As a frequent Evernote user, I’m looking forward having the facility to scan my fingerprint when I want to start taking notes on my Galaxy S8 Plus. However, seeing as I’m not enrolled in the beta program, I’ll have to wait for the feature to reach the stable version — and there’s no telling how long that will take.
