Twitter has announced a new update that will make its way to its Android application in the not-too-distant future.

In addition to transporting a slew of bug fixes, the upgrade will introduce an optional Automatic Night Mode feature that switches between a white and black background at sunrise and sunset, respectively.

At present, Twitter for Android users are required to manually activate Night Mode — should they want to — by swiping in from the left-hand side of the screen and flicking the toggle from Off to On.
