You can now pre-order the Solar Red model of the HTC U11 in the United States. The handset is available from the firm’s website for $649, with shipments scheduled to start arriving at customers’ doors next month.
Aside from the new hue, this particular unit is identical to all of the other variants. Enclosed in its liquid glass body, you’ll find a 5.5-inch QHD screen, a Snapdragon 835 CPU, a 12MP UltraPixel rear camera and a 3,000mAh battery.
Believe it or not, the internals aren’t actually the main selling point of the HTC U11. What counts is actually on the outside, as the device sports a pressure-sensitive frame, which essentially means it’s the world’s first squeezable smartphone.
Users can configure a slew of different actions — launching an application or placing a call, for example — which can be triggered by squeezing the handset for either a short or long period of time.
