Korean publication Naver has revealed that Samsung will take to the stage in New York on August 26 to announce the much-anticipated Galaxy Note 8, which certainly seems feasible seeing as it unveiled the Galaxy Note 7 on August 2.

It’s thought that Samsung originally intended to launch the Galaxy Note 8 at IFA in September, but brought the release date forward to put the handset in a better position to compete with the upcoming iPhone 8.

The Galaxy Note 8 should pack a center-mounted fingerprint reader

In addition, the report also notes that the Galaxy Note 8 will pack a 6.3-inch Infinity Display, a dual-camera setup, an improved S Pen and a center-mounted rear-facing fingerprint readers—a design decision that should please many Galaxy S8 owners looking to upgrade.
