OnePlus 5 invitation kit spills more details on the phone

The reveal of the OnePlus 5 is drawing closer and closer, and with that comes invitation kits to attend the actual unveiling.

Images of the contents of the invitation kit have begun hitting Weibo – a Chinese service akin to Twitter – and there are a couple of interesting takeaways from it. There are two interesting bits of text in “FOCUS ON WHAT MATTERS” which would seem to be a reference to the dual-camera system we know is coming.

The second bit of text that is intriguing says “Double Suspense.” OnePlus doesn’t give away exactly what this means, only that it will be revealed at the launch event. With the camera already being acknowledged in the previous slogan, it seems this is unlikely to be a reference to the shooters again. Is there possibly a feature that has not yet been leaked? We’ll find out for sure next week when the phone is officially unveiled.

About the physical items in the kit, there is an included phone cover that appears to be something like kevlar, but there is no confirmation that is what is actually made out of. This of course now gives us the exact proportions of the device, as well as giving us a better idea of the exact placement of the dual-sensor camera. While we’ve already seen it in renders, it’s different when you get a physical representation.

The official cover definitely adds some credence to the Case Fanatic images from earlier in the week that you can see below.  It feels as though, at least physically, there will not be many surprises when OnePlus officially reveals the phone next week.

Specs wise there are many rumors as to what will be revealed by the company. We know for sure that it will feature a Snapdragon 835 processor, but beyond that things get a bit more speculative. We’ve heard that the RAM will either be 6 or 8GB, 64 or 128GB of internal storage, a 3300mAh battery and a few more.

We can’t wait for June 20 to roll around and we finally learn all of the details on this eagerly anticipated phone.
