Motorola will announce another smartphone on June 27

Motorola has scheduled another smartphone unveiling for June, its third for the month. The Lenovo-owned company is expected to announce its much-anticipated Moto Z2, a flagship handset that could be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 processor.

Motorola already has events scheduled for June 21 and June 30, and this one will take place in between the two on June 27. Its invite below, which features a model holding what looks like the Moto Z2, all but confirms its next-generation flagship will be the focus of the event. The tagline “Motorola is back” suggests we have something special to look forward to.

But it won’t be a total surprise. Details surrounding the Moto Z2 have been steadily leaking out in recent months, alongside plenty of pretty pictures. The device sports a slim metallic design similar to that of its predecessor, but this time it’s packing dual rear-facing cameras. USB-C connectivity is maintained, but there is no return of a headphone jack.

Recent rumors have claimed that the Moto Z2 will be just as attractive on the inside, with a Snapdragon 835 processor, either 4GB or 6GB of RAM, and a 5.5-inch Quad HD display.

Motorola has already announced the Moto Z2 Play, a more affordable model with a similar design that packs a Snapdragon 626 processor, up to 4GB of RAM, up to 64GB of storage, and a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera with a wider f/1.7 aperture. The company also gave us a bunch of new Moto Mods to go alongside it. One of its other June events is expected to bring the Moto X4.
