The Asus Zenfone 4 is on the way, and it’s going to be entering a crowded market in the near future.
We’re just under a week away from the announcement of the OnePlus 5. The iPhone 8 is on the horizon in the early part of the fall. The Note 8 is lurking in the shadows. The Galaxy S8 and LG G6 are already gobbling up market share, but none of this is enough to make Asus sit on the sidelines.
Speaking to Digitimes, Asus CEO Jerry Shen said that the Zenfone 4 family will debut at the end of July. This is about three months behind the original schedule, but Shen explained that the change was necessary for efficiency upgrades and a design overhaul.
The base Zenfone 4 will feature a 5.5-inch screen and retail for NT$15,000 (USD $498) unlocked. It will then be followed by different models in various screen sizes.
Coming as a bit of a surprise, Shen also let the world know that the Zenfone 5 won’t be far behind and is due to be unveiled at the 2018 Mobile World Congress in Spain next February. So if the Zenfone 4 doesn’t speak to you, just wait seven months for the next iteration.
