Subtitled “Because you all just love Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag so flippin’ much.”

Ubisoft Singapore announced a brand new tactical pirate game during its E3 2017 presentation called Skull and Bones. Citing Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag as the direct inspiration for the project, the studio stated that it wants this game to be the biggest and best pirate experience in the video game market.

Look out Rare and Sea of Thieves! This is now an arms race, and pirates are clearly the new zombies.

The online game has 5 on 5 PvP modes in which entire crews of pirates will battle over loot on hidden islands. Up to five teams will compete over the same treasure at the same time.

Ubisoft’s demonstration was absolutely thrilling, and here’s to hoping that Skull and Bones is a game that has a lot of reach. It needs a single player campaign and some serious multiplayer support so it doesn’t end up like a flash in the pan like For Honor.

Skull and Bones will be released on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in fall 2018.
