Summer is the time for air-conditioned movie theaters, and movies like Guardians of the Galaxy, Wonder Woman, Spider-Man, and Thor are doing a great job of keeping us in those over-sized seats. Once fall rolls around, it’s time to plop our collective butts in front of the television for our regular dose of superheroes. CW has published the premiere dates of the next seasons of all of its comic book shows. The schedule is changing up a bit, so keep your eyes peeled.
Supergirl comes back first, with season 3 premiering Monday, October 9 at 8 p.m. EST, and that leads into the new CW show Valor at 9 p.m. Valor promises to be the sexiest show about helicopters since Airwolf. On Tuesday October 10, we’ll find out how Barry escapes from Speedster Jail when The Flash shows up in its usual 8 p.m. EST time slot for its season 4 premiere, followed by season 3 of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow at 9 p.m.
Here’s where things get weird
On Wednesday, you’ll be watching someone else, or something else. The Archie-inspired Riverdale moves to Wednesday night, premiering on October 11 at 8 p.m. EST. CW’s hoping you’ll stay tuned for its remake of the classic serial-soap Dynasty, which moves the show from Denver to Atlanta. So where’s Arrow?
We’ll find out what happened to Oliver and the rest of Team Arrow on Thursday, October 12. Supernatural‘s 13th season airs at 8 p.m., followed by Arrow at 9 p.m. To finish out the week, Friday the 13th features Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and Jane the Virgin at 8 and 9 p.m. EST.
What about the CW’s other two comic book shows? iZombie and Black Lightning will be joining the line-up later in the season. CW’s execs rightly believe that four comic book shows at a time is plenty. The 100, The Originals, and new series Life Sentence are on tap for mid-season premieres as well.
