Google has released a new version of Chrome for Android, which it claims is capable of increasing the loading speed of webpages by up to 20 percent, while using less memory; however, a specific figure was not provided.

In addition, Big G notes that the upgrade transports a slew of bug fixes and stability improvements, as well as support for animated PNGs. A list of all the changes included in the build can be found in its Git log.

The upgrade could take a couple of days to reach the Play Store

Even though the update was released on Wednesday, Google claims it could take a couple of days to reach the Play Store — so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for a notification prompting you to install the upgrade.

There’s no word on whether the release will make its way to iOS.
