Back when mobile games were struggling for legitimacy on the gaming scene, especially ones asking for a premium price, one game dared even the most adamant naysayers to admit that they didn’t love it to pieces. Monument Valley became the essential mobile hit and has sold 26 million copies since it first launched in 2014.
Its sequel, Monument Valley 2, is available now.
During a surprise announcement at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference, Ustwo Games announced that the sequel has already rolled out for iPhone and iPad. Android users will have to wait for a release “soon.”
This new chapter puts players in control of a mother named Ro, who guides her child through the same geometry-defying level design that made the original so popular.
Guide a mother and her child as they embark on a journey through magical architecture, discovering illusionary pathways and delightful puzzles as you learn the secrets of the Sacred Geometry.
Monument Valley 2 will set you back $4.99 in the App Store. Again, Android users will have to wait “soon” to play it.
