Oppo is scheduled to unveil its latest smartphone on June 10, but we know exactly what the phone will look thanks to leaked renders and video showing off the R11 in its entirety.
Android Pure got its hands on press renders, which shows the phone in four colors—black, silver, gold and rose gold. The device looks really nice but is quite familiar. In fact, it’s nearly a carbon copy of the iPhone 7 Plus down to its colors, dual camera, antenna bands and the placement of the home button and front-facing camera. If it didn’t have a giant Oppo logo stamped on the back, it’d be understandably hard to distinguish it from Apple’s smartphone.
Imitation is the sincerest from of flattery, right?
In case that wasn’t a good enough look at the device, Ray Arena got ahold of a short ten-second video giving us a look at the Oppo R11. The color being showed off in the video is silver. Oppo may have taken pointers from Apple’s designs, but the phone still looks pretty sweet.
The device will come in two variatioins: the R11 and R11 Plus. The R11 will feature a 5.5-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 660 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, 20MP dual camera, fingerprint scanner and 3,000mAh battery. The R11 Plus is nearly the same phone save for its 6-inch 1080p display, 6GB of RAM and 4,000mAh battery. Both devices will run Oppo’s Funtouch ColorOS 3.1 skin on top of Android.
Impressive specs, but judging from its processor, the devices might be aimed at the mid-range market instead of high-end where the Snapdragon 835 is the standard right now. About the only detail we don’t know is how much the R11 and R11 Plus will cost. We’ll find that out come June 10 if it isn’t leaked before then.
