Honor 9 leak indicates the phone is coming sooner than you think

by Josh Levenson | June 1, 2017

The Honor 9 was originally slated to be unveiled on June 27, but a leaked promotional poster that surfaced on Weibo on Thursday suggests that the handset could actually be launched at a dedicated event in Shanghai, China on June 12.

The illustration itself is pretty reserved. It features a big number nine alongside the typical Honor logo for a dual-camera configuration, seemingly corroborating earlier rumors that the handset will sport a 20MP monochrome and a 12MP regular sensor.

Other alleged specifications include a 5.2-inch Full HD display, a Kirin 960 System-on-Chip (SoC), 4GB or 6GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable internal storage and a 3,000mAh non-removable battery.

What about pricing?

While we don’t have any details with regards to pricing, it’s likely that the Honor 9 will carry a price tag of around $400. As we’ve said before, anything steeper would take away the affordable appeal of Honor devices.
