OnePlus 5 may come in four (gorgeous) colors

In an effort to drum up more hype, OnePlus has taken to its Twitter account to share yet another teaser for the much-rumored OnePlus 5. While the image doesn’t reveal anything about the handset itself, it does suggest that it’ll be available in four colors when it launches in the summer.

Will the OnePlus 5 really launch anodized in all four of these hues, though? Probably not. As you can see, options one, three and four (black, red and gold) are realistic colors for a smartphone, but two is a gradient, something we haven’t seen from the Chinese — or any other — manufacturer before.

Responding to a comment, OnePlus referred to the gradient as a “unicorn,” leading us to believe that it was thrown into the mix purely to throw us off our game. Some, however, have speculated that it will be used for a very special, one-of-a-kind model of the OnePlus 5 that only CEO Pete Lau will posses.

Whatever the case may be, it’s likely the shades of black, red and gold highlighted in the image are actually the colors the device will come in, but we’re not going to rule out the possibility of a few more. After all, the firm’s traditional gunmetal hue is missing from the list.

The OnePlus 5 may come with a Snapdragon 835 CPU

Recent leaks and rumors point towards the OnePlus 5 shipping with a Full HD display, 6GB of RAM, a Snapdragon 835 octa-core CPU, a dual-pixel rear-facing camera and a 3,600mAh non-removable battery that’s capable of charging up to 25 percent faster than the OnePlus 3T, which was released back in November, 2016.
