Far Cry 5 is ditching tropical paradise for… Montana?

In a series of teaser trailers for the upcoming Far Cry 5, Ubisoft revealed that they’ll say goodbye to the tropics in this mainline entry. Sure, they went elsewhere in Far Cry Primal, but we hardly view that entry as a main effort in the franchise. Good? Sure, but not the mainline stuff.

Far Cry 5 will apparently take place in Montana, U.S.

Specifically, Hope County, Montana. Here’s the clip, pay attention to the method for ringing the bell.

Right, clearly something’s off here in Hope County. The clip starts with a desperate scream, a man shot in the back (we assume) while running in a field and then the slow fly by a church in the middle of nowhere. The background music? “Amazing Grace” sung by parishioners. The sound effect? A church bell ringing as someone slams a person’s head into it again and again.

Spooky stuff, right?

The teaser reveals that we’ll see a full reveal on May 26, 2017.

I’m sort of excited to see something completely new for a main Far Cry title, aren’t you?
