Microsoft teases new Type Covers for the upcoming Surface Pro

All signs point towards Microsoft announcing an updated Surface Pro at an event it’s holding in Shanghai, China on Tuesday, and the firm’s Surface chief has today taken to Instagram to share an image of four keyboards — presumably the slate’s Type Covers, which appear to be wrapped in Alcantara à la Surface Laptop — alongside the caption “30 hours to go.”

If a recent set of leaked renders are anything to go by, it doesn’t look like the Surface Pro will come with a drastic new design. In fact, not only is it expected to retain the same name as its predecessor, it should also look identical — so forget about a USB-C connectivity in place of the Surface Connect port, folks.

Microsoft will showcase new accessories alongside the Surface Pro

In addition, an early report suggests that Microsoft will showcase a slew of new accessories, like the rumored Surface Pen Loop, alongside the refreshed Surface Pro; though nothing’s confirmed. Fortunately, we don’t have to wait too much longer to find out exactly what the company has up its sleeve.
