Since launch, the only way that Overwatch‘s in-game loot boxes have seen the addition of skins, emotes, highlight intros, voice lines and sprays has been when the game has had an event. Blizzard hasn’t actually added any new content to the standard, non-event boxes.
That’ll change this week. Speaking with Polygon, Jeff Kaplan revealed that the Anniversary Event that’s set to kick off on May 23, 2017, will feature new items added to the standard loot boxes.
What will we see?
Over the last few weeks and months, we’ve heard word of new skins being made for the likes of Hanzo and Symmetra. Hearing that we’re set to see new, non-event related content added to standard loot boxes this week makes me think that this pair of heroes is finally due for some legendary tier stuff.
I need some new Hanzo skins, friends. Not that I play him at all in competitive play, but just because I want him to keep looking cool.
What are you hoping to see?
