Amazon U.K. offers Prime subscribers free books and magazines

Amazon U.K. today announced Prime Reading, a new service for Prime subscribers that offers free books, magazines, and more. The service made its debut in the U.S. last October, and unlike Kindle Unlimited, it is bundled in with Prime at no extra cost.

Kindle Unlimited might still be a more suitable option for frequent readers who want unlimited access to over a million books and magazines. It also offers audiobooks, which aren’t included in Prime Reading. However, for more casual readers who might only get through one book a month and the odd magazine here and there, free Prime Reading is ideal.

The service offers a rotating selection of popular books, magazines, comics, and short works that you can read as often as you like. It includes fiction and non-fiction, children’s books, graphic novels, and more. All titles can be downloaded to a Kindle e-reader or any device with access to the Kindle app, including your Android and iOS devices.

Books currently up for grabs include Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, and titles shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize like The Fishermen. Magazines include Good Housekeeping, Glamour, TIME, National Geographic, Vogue, Wired, Men’s Health, and many more.
