OnePlus 5 pops up on AnTuTu with some pretty impressive internals

An unidentified OnePlus-branded handset carrying the model number A5000 was spotted on the AnTuTu online database, and information included in the listing — like a Snapdragon 835 processor and 6GB of RAM — leads us to believe we’re looking at the much-anticipated OnePlus 5.

The benchmark claims that in addition to shipping running Android 7.1.1 Nougat as its base OS, the device packs 64GB of internal storage, a Full HD display, a 16MP rear- and 16 front-facing camera (sadly, there’s no mention of the rumored dual-lens module) and an Adreno 540 GPU.

It’s likely OnePlus is working on multiple prototypes of the OnePlus 5 — so we’re not going to rule out the possibility of a secondary rear camera just yet. In fact, we’re starting to think the firm is developing a high-end variant, equipped with a 2K screen, 8GB of RAM and a dual-lens shooter.

We can’t wait to see how the souped-up version performs

If this turns out to be an ‘entry-level’ model, we can’t wait to see how the souped-up version performs. After all, this unit achieved an incredibly impressive score of 176,000 in AnTuTu’s famous performance test, topping the recently-released Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus.
