Galaxy S8 red tint glitch patched by a major carrier

Following in the footsteps of AT&T and T-Mobile, Verizon has finally started pushing out an update for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus in the United States to fix a minor display glitch (aka red tint fever) that some users were experiencing.

As you’d expect, the upgrade is identical to the release Samsung began distributing in Europe at the beginning of the month, transporting a few new options for the Adaptive Display screen mode to optimize the appearance of white tones.

The OTA should reach your handset by the end of the week

It’s worth noting, however, that the upgrade is making the rounds in stages — so if it’s not ready for your Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8 Plus just yet, sit tight. Judging by Verizon’s history, it should reach your handset by the end of the week at the latest.
