Samsung finds yet another home for Bixby in your refrigerator

Samsung has announced that it’s now preloading its Bixby virtual assistant on its Family Hub 2.0 refrigerator, gifting you with the facility to search for recipes, weather forecasts and a slew of other information using nothing but your voice.

“Bixby can [teach] itself by analyzing [your] voice commands,” said a representative on behalf of Samsung, later adding that a Family Hub 2.0 equipped with Bixby provides different services to any other refrigerator currently on the market.

Without a doubt, Bixby’s most impressive feature is its deep learning algorithm, which, over time, supplies it with the data required to control the temperature of the refrigerator automatically, and compose shopping lists and recall recipes based on your eating habits.

But what if you already own a Family Hub 2.0?

You’re in luck! According to Pulse News Korea, Samsung will distribute an over-the-air update for units that have already shipped, which bundles not only the Bixby functionality, but also a slew of additional bug fixes and stability improvements.
