We wanted a OnePlus 5 so badly we built one… kinda

One of the worst things about working in the tech news industry is hearing about a new device and then waiting months, and in some cases years, to finally see it become reality. As we sit here and read various rumors and see the endless streams of leaks, it sets our imaginations on fire.

With all of the recent OnePlus 5 rumors we just couldn’t take it any more, so we turned to Benjamin Geskin to help us create some renders of the device.

Let us be very clear: These renders are based on rumors, not schematics, CAD files or anything else.

This is essentially a love letter to what we hope to see when the OnePlus 5 launches this summer.

We also decided to see how the OnePlus 5 would look in bright colors, so make sure to check out the full gallery.

On the front, the 5.5-inch 2K screen has shown up in so many rumors now that almost feels like fact. On the back we have heard endless rumors of a dual-camera setup, but rumors have conflicted over whether they will be placed vertically or horizontally. We chose to go with vertical as we thought is was more aesthetically pleasing.

Of course, what can’t be seen is whether the device has 6GB or 8GB of RAM. We definitely feel like 8GB would make a very bold statement, and it’s something Samsung and LG won’t forget any time soon. Additionally, the majority of rumors are pointing to 128GB of internal storage and a Snapdragon 835 processor, which recently set GeekBench tests on fire.

If the rumors of a $449 price tag prove to be correct, this is going to be a phone that is hard to ignore when it launches this summer.

Enjoy these renders, and be sure to let us know if you like original renders and would like to see more.
