By the time the iPhone 8 is finally announced, there will be hundreds of concepts of what the phone will look like. Some will look stupid while others will be quite accurate. The latest one comes from a joint effort between On Leaks and GearIndia, who teamed up to create a concept not based on rumors but on leaked factory CAD images that may be our closest look at the real thing.
The concept in question looks quite similar to the one we saw yesterday, but there are a few tweaks. It features a stunning edge-to-edge OLED display, glass back, vertical dual cameras and enlarged home button that make it really stand out. The concept gives it the same color schematic as the Galaxy S8, with the shiny metal band around the the glossy glass in the front and back. It looks damn good.
Similar to the concepts we’ve seen, it features a quirky display that houses the cameras and earpiece within creating a weird cut-off at the top. Not sure how this would work in real-life scenarios, but it’s an interesting take nonetheless.
A few other details to note is its similar frame to past iPhones, including the ports, speaker grills, button placement and rounded finish. The concept also has a protruding camera, meaning a rocking iPhone when placed flat may still be in our future.
If this is the real iPhone 8, Apple has another hit on its hands
If the real iPhone looks anything like this, consider it a smash hit. It’s the right mix between signature iPhone design with enticing new features that will woo in millions of customers. We won’t know what the iPhone 8 will look like until the fall, but we’re hoping it looks a lot like this.
