Destiny 2 will have meaningful PC features that are tailor-made

Destiny 2 will finally mark this new-ish IP’s jump from the console platform to PCs, something fans of shooters and Bungie were hoping would happen with the first Destiny. It never did.

Now that’s it coming to PC, it sounds like Activision and Bungie have some unique PC features in mind for the production. Speaking with investors during an earnings briefing, Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg talked a bit about driving player engagement with Destiny and how the plan to further that with the sequel.

“Destiny’s engagement has been the best in Activision’s history… We now have a lot of confidence that we’re going to be able to keep up with demand with that steady stream of content and sort of keep pace with our players’ engagement post-release of Destiny 2. As you know, with Destiny 2’s content, we’re coupling Bungie’s great visionary leadership with multiple AAA developers that have a proven track record here at Activision to help us make sure we have just one great piece of content after another to keep the community engaged.”

As for the PC exclusive stuff? Hirshberg sort of said that’s coming: “We’re committed to delivering meaningful features that are bespoke for the PC community.” I read “bespoke” and I think “tailor-made.”

What sort of meaningful PC features could be coming?

Better groupings? Server browsers for multiplayer? What does Bungie have in mind for Destiny 2 as it relates to “meaningful features that are bespoke for the PC community?”

Desinty 2 will be revealed on May 18, 2017.
