OnePlus has confirmed to The Verge that it will unveil its next flagship smartphone at some point in the summer, and it’ll be called the OnePlus 5 and not the OnePlus 4, presumably because the number four is considered unlucky in China where OnePlus is based.
Recent leaks, rumors and speculation point towards the OnePlus 5 packing a Snapdragon 835 CPU, 6GB of RAM, a 12MP dual-lens rear-facing camera, an 8MP selfie camera and a 3,600mAh battery, which reportedly charges 25 percent faster than the OnePlus 3T.
A (rather unreliable) product listing that appeared online earlier today claims the handset will hit the shelves at “the beginning of June” for $449, a price that certainly seems feasible especially when you consider the OnePlus 3T carries a price tag of $439.
Nothing is official as of yet, though.
