Samsung’s preparing to launch a ruggedized variant of the Galaxy S8. At least, that’s what a User Agent Profile spotted by Twitter user Roland Quandt has led us to believe.
The listing refers to an unannounced handset bearing the model number SM-G892A, which SamMobile claims is the identification tag assigned to the AT&T-branded variant of the Galaxy S8 Active.
Unfortunately, we don’t know a great deal about the device. We expect it to adhere to the MIL-STD-810G standard of durability, but it’s unclear whether it’ll sport the same internals as the Galaxy S8.
If this turns out to be the case, we can expect the Galaxy S8 Active to pack a 5.8-inch display, an Exynos 8895/Snapdragon 835 processor, a 12MP rear-facing camera, an 8MP selfie shooter and a 3,000mAh battery.
