A new month, a new set of Android distribution figures. As expected, the numbers reveal that Nougat adoption is on the rise, climbing 2.2 percent since last month, which likely has something to do with the recent release of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus.
Just like in March, Lollipop remains the most-used version of the open-source operating system, with a total adoption rate of 32 percent, while KitKat and Jelly Bean continue on their inevitable path towards extinction.
A quick note on the figures
These figures don’t account for all Android-powered devices. The data is collected by recording the OS a unit was running when it accessed the Play Store over a 7-day period; if a user didn’t download an app or install an update, their handset won’t be included.
