After a hiccup yesterday with an Amazon leak, Gunfire Games and THQ Nordic officially confirmed the existence of Darksiders III with a launch trailer from IGN.
The game stars Fury, the sister of the first game’s protagonist War. While he remains imprisoned during the events of Darksiders II, The Charred Council tasks her with hunting down the Seven Deadly Sins, dealing with the fallout from the Seals of the Apocalypse breaking.
Series veterans are working on the title
Darksiders III is being helmed by studio Gunfire Games and its founder David L. Adams. Adams was also a founder of Vigil Games, the studio behind the first two Darksiders games. His staff is comprised of many familiar faces from the old Vigil Games studio, meaning that the people who turned the series into a surprise hit are working their magic once again.
The game is expected for release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2018.
