Bixby Vision’s shopping feature now works on the Verizon Galaxy S8

Verizon has rolled out an update for its variant of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus. The upgrade finally brings you the facility to use Bixby Vision’s shopping feature, which enables you to point your smartphone’s camera at an object and receive a link to its product page on Amazon.

Prior to today, customers with a Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8 Plus on Verizon were unable to take full advantage of Bixby Vision, but those in possession of a device locked to a different carrier have had access to all aspects of the service since it launched alongside the handsets on Friday, April 21.

There’s still no word on when Bixby Voice will be released in the U.S.

Unfortunately, there’s still no word on when Bixby Voice will be released in the United States (and other regions, for that matter). Samsung previously gave a vague spring timeframe and seeing as the season technically doesn’t end until June 20, you could be in for a pretty lengthy wait.
