You can now install the Nougat update on the unlocked Galaxy S7 edge in the U.S.

Samsung has finally released the long-awaited Nougat update for the factory unlocked variant (SM-G935U) of the Galaxy S7 edge in the United States. As you’d expect, the upgrade bundles all of the nifty features baked into Android 7.0, as well as a slew of additional bug fixes, stability improvements and speed optimisations.

This news comes less than a month after the South Korean conglomerate started rolling out a similar update for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge in the region following what felt like a series of endless delays, though the firm kept quiet about the exact reason for the late rollout.

To install the upgrade

To see if the OTA is ready for your Galaxy S7 edge, head into Settings, followed by About Device, then hit Download Updates Manually. Alternatively, you can grab it instantly using Samsung’s Smart Switch desktop software, which is surprisingly easy to use; install the program on your computer, plug in your device and you’ll be good to go.
