We’re due for another entry in the excellent Mario & Luigi franchise if we are to believe a recent hack into the Nintendo eShop. @SciresM, who has successfully tapped into Nintendo’s system before, allegedly found two new listings for the Nintendo 3DS. One listing is for Ever Oasis, a fun action RPG from the creator of Secret of Mana Koichi Ishi.
The other? An unannounced game by the name of Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga DX.
Pretty excited for 00040000001A4800 (Ever Oasis) and 00040000001B8F00 (Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga DX).

Hell hath no fury like a Fawful scorned
Superstar Saga was released for the Game Boy Advance in 2003, and it gained immediate praise for its graphics, its reinterpretation of the relationship between Mario and Luigi, its open world setting similar to The Legend of Zelda, and its excellent battle system, which borrowed many cues from the Super Nintendo classic Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars.
Perhaps most importantly, it delivered unto us Fawful, the best Mario villain outside of the usual Bowser, Donkey Kong, and Wario line-up. He became an immediate success with his catchphrase “I have fury!” and a grammar impediment that would make old Yoda jealous.
The game is something of a classic but not on the upper tier of Nintendo favorites. Developer AlphaDream retooled the graphics for the series once it hit the 3DS, and both Mario & Luigi: Dream Team and Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam are a lot of fun to look at. However, I wouldn’t say they were outright better than the sprites found in the first game. I’m not sure how Nintendo would approach making this title any better.
We’ll have to wait and see if this project ever becomes official in the first place.
