The OnePlus 5 is inching closer to reality, and the newest leak may give us our first indication of what to expect from the camera.
True-Tech is showing off four images that were reportedly shot with the rear camera of the upcoming OnePlus 5. According to the EXIF data of the images – which True-Tech states, and we agree, can be edited to say just about anything – that the images were shot in Shenzen, China on a phone manufactured by OnePlus with the model number “ONEPLUS A5000” which is reportedly the OnePlus 5.
The images don’t tell us too much, and in at least two of the images you aren’t even positive what the subject matter is. True-Tech has provided a downloadable ZIP file of the images if you care to study the full resolution version for yourself.
For now we recommend taking these images with a pinch of salt, but the site does vouch for the leaker that provided them saying the individual has been correct in the past with some leaks. With recent rumors of the OnePlus 5 sporting a dual-lens rear camera, these images do seem to fit in with what we might possibly expect.
What we can expect from the OnePlus 5
At this stage in the game, everything we hear about the OnePlus 5 is rumor, but we do believe the upcoming handset will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset with 8GB of RAM powering a QHD AMOLED 5.5-inch screen. That much firepower will need a massive battery to power it and reportedly there will be a 4,000mAh battery doing just that.
No word yet as to when exactly we’ll see the OnePlus 5, but hopefully it will be soon.
Correction: A previous version of this article stated the OnePlus 5 will have a Snapdragon 635. Typo corrected to say Snapdragon 835.
