Samsung has pushed out an update to fix the Galaxy S8’s red tint issue

by Danny Zepeda | April 27, 2017

Last week, owners of the Galaxy S8 began complaining about a red tint issue afflicting the gorgeous Infinity Display. Samsung immediately put out a statement that an update was coming to fix it, but it turns out the update is only arriving in Korea. The rest of the world will have to wait.

The red tint display issue stems from a white color imbalance, and incredibly noticeable when put next to a phone with a normal display.

On the heels of the Note 7 disaster, Samsung is very aware it’s on a tight leash with consumers, and its responding in kind to the red tint issue. In a direct statement to the The Wall Street Journal, it stated the issue isn’t hardware related, nor a problem every S8 user will encounter. But in case owners are unsatisfied with the update, Samsung will replace the device.

Hopefully, all users get the update soon

There’s still no word on when owners outside of Korea can expect the update. If the update needs to pass through carriers, this may delay it even more. Once Samsung pushes the update, we’ll be sure to pass along the news.
