This year’s Call of Duty is set, for the first time since Call of Duty: World at War, in World War II. After the concept and a few screenshots leaked, we now have an official reveal trailer and a confirmed release date.
The story follows rookie soldier Ronald “Red” Daniels of the United States Army 1st Infantry Division, and will weave in and out of real events from the war as well as closer, more personal ones. The game is in development at Sledgehammer Games, which most recently worked on Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
This game looks gorgeous
Activision is promising a return to the series’ roots, though from a visual perspective it’s a whole new game. The level of detail in the trailer is absurd. Thanks to the huge budgets that go into these games and the level of fidelity developers are able to accomplish these days when given the resources, Call of Duty: WWII promises to be the most detailed World War II game to date.
Call of Duty: WWII hits PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on November 3.
