The Galaxy S8 appears to be a home run for Samsung

by Danny Zepeda | April 25, 2017

A big challenge Samsung had with the Galaxy S8’s launch was overcoming the Note 7 debacle. No one knew exactly how Samsung would fare, but it appears all has been forgotten and people are embracing the S8, earning the best pre-order numbers any Samsung device has ever seen.

Earlier this month, there was a report by BusinessKorea stating pre-orders for the S8 were going well, but now Samsung is confirming the S8’s success.

The S8 pre-order numbers are 30 percent higher compared to the Galaxy S7 last year. Samsung stated the S7 was its most successful to date, and now the S8 is breaking those numbers handily. The S8 just went on sale this past Friday, so it might be a while until we see some concrete numbers, if at all. Most phone companies are usually mum on specific sales figures.

There’s a lot to love about the S8

If you hold the S8 in your hand, it’s not hard to see why people are falling in love with it. Samsung eliminated the top and bottom display bezels, allowing the S8 to feature a smaller footprint yet still have a big screen. Following last year’s Note 7 recall, this is exactly what the Korean company needed. Now, it’s just a matter of Samsung sustaining the buzz as we get closer to the iPhone 8’s fall debut.
