Fire Emblem Echoes trailer covers classes beautifully

I love Fire Emblem. From top to bottom, story to gameplay, art to mechanics, this franchise is easily among my favorites. You know what I don’t love? The voice that narrates this new trailer from Nintendo. It’s for Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, and the voice work makes it sort of bad from a production standpoint.

However, if you’re completely new to this series, you’ll want to check it out. This covers the nature of classes, changing classes and what that’ll do for you over the progression of the game.

There’s a lot to learn with Fire Emblem, and those who have never played have a wealth of new information and strategy to ingest. Managing your roster, dealing with permanent death and juggling classes is a huge part of the formula for victory.

Remember, Fire Emblem Echoes is a remake…

…of a game the west never played. This sequel never made it beyond Japan after its initial release. Now it’s moving west, it’s been completely remade, it offers third-person dungeon crawling (a first for the franchise overall) and lots of voice acting.

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia launches for the Nintendo 3DS on May 19, 2017.
