Did you know that the Kirby franchise from HAL Laboratory and Nintendo is 25 years old this year? With that age comes some fresh games, and one of them sounds sort of bizarre for the Kirby brand
HAL Laboratory developer Satoshi Ishida took to Miiverse to announce that the team is working on something we haven’t heard about yet.
“As for upcoming games,” he writes, “we’re going to let Kirby loose in a 3D world this summer in Kirby’s Blowout Blast.” Kirby in a fully 3D space? Sounds great. He goes on, “and we’re also planning an action fighting game for next winter.”
What does a Kirby action fighting game look like?
I sort of hope the team uses the new 3D world approach with this action fighter. I don’t know why, but I’m picturing something like Bayonetta or NieR only with Kirby. And, well, less sexy. Or more sexy, I don’t know, I’m not judging your interests here.
We’ll see what this new Kirby title is in the future, so stay tuned.
