You can now yell ‘hey Cortana’ to wake up the Surface Studio

Thanks to an audio driver update Microsoft started rolling out this week, you can now wake up your Surface Studio by simply yelling “hey Cortana.”

As noted by The Verge, the recent Creators Update to Windows 10 bundles the wake functionality, but requires an additional upgrade to be activated.

Microsoft is reportedly planning to enable the Cortana wake feature on additional devices later this year, in the hope of building a system that can compete with the Amazon Echo.

Good news for folk in Australia, Canada and New Zealand

On a related note, the Surface Studio has today made its debut outside of the United States, launching in Australia, Canada and New Zealand.
